naturopathy

Naturopathy is a system of medicine based on the theory that diseases can be successfully treated or prevented without the use of drugs, by techniques such as control of diet, exercise and massage. At our clinic, our Naturopath uses a combination of herbal medicine, nutrition and lifestyle modifications to treat health conditions and to maintain health and vitality. The approach is wholistic, which means the whole person is considered, not just their diagnosis. The underlying principle is that given the right support, your body is able to heal itself. All factors are taken into account such as a medical history, medication, lifestyle, diet and environment, with the aim of finding the underlying cause of the condition. Your treatment will be tailored to your individual needs to resolve current health problems, and to provide knowledge for self care and long term preventative health.

Your practitioner is trained in herbal and naturopathic medicine as well as in medical sciences, and is able to treat a broad spectrum of conditions that are acute or chronic, and often inter-related. These might include disorders and imbalances relating to digestion, immunity, endocrine disorders, reproduction, fertility, mental health, allergies and respiratory health. A range of both conventional and traditional diagnositic tools will be used, and treatment may involve dietary change, nutritional supplements, herbal medicines, bodywork and stress management tools. Our Naturopath will work alongside your medical and health practitioners to ensure there are no negative interactions with your current medications, and to provide the very best integrative health care.
